IBLOG, THE AUGUST 31ST EDITION

SOCIAL MEDIA SHARING: HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?

We all have that person who we follow on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or whatever social media platform it may be, for the sake of gist and pure entertainment. They flood your phone with twitter updates as soon as the sun comes up, giving you motivational quotes or political commentary, they use hashtags in every sentence, update their display pictures and status messages every 12 minutes with breaking news of less than newsworthy events happening in their small worlds, tag you in every facebook photo of recent trips or proud accomplishments and say things that we absolutely don’t need to know about their lives. There are times you get so very annoyed with their incessant posting that you almost unfollow or unfriend them.

Sharing is the basis of social media, and it can be a beautiful thing besides social media can be tons of fun and helps us feel connected to one another. But when does all that sharing become too much? And when can what you share online actually become dangerous?

We also have that friend or small business owner trying to achieve world domination from their offices located in their bedrooms or laptops (God will help us get bigger, lol!).  They literarily run down your phone battery with broadcasts about their services, products, discounts and promotions.

The abundance of information isn't just annoying — it can also make overeager posters targets for scams and other crimes as people reveal their full birth date online, broadcast when they're leaving the house, their health conditions and their love lives. All personal information.

Do you think people share too much online?

Do you think more people should leverage on social media as a free means of brand and business advertising because you have seen it work for you?

Has your client base doubled or bottom line been positively impacted by your strategic exploitation of social media?

Do you want to find out other ways to engage prospects for your business because you are losing followers and friends on social media who find the deluge of information overwhelming?

Have you closed your facebook account, stayed off blackberry messenger, never been on facebook, hate twitter and scoff at people who spend their lives on this platforms?

Will you like first hand advice from an expert about how much is too much to share about your business or personal life on social media?

Then this event is for you!

Just ask God to come into your heart.

Jesus Christ didn't only die 2000 years ago, with nails piercing his hands and thorns his head.

He lives in us today, rescuing us from danger, delivering us from evil, making our crooked paths straight, changing us from inside out, giving us the power to make wealth, helping us be in the right place at the right time, healing our broken lives and strained relationships, evening out odds stacked against us, turning our disadvantage into advantage, taking hate and anger out of our hearts, helping us keep our commitments, marshalling our energies wisely in the right investments, multiplying the results of our efforts, training us to give up a habit of sin, making angels and good people out of us, helping us make good decisions, rescuing us in distress and comforting us where we need comfort.
You need this Jesus.

Please Pray this simple prayer:

Father for Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named

Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name

I bow my knees before you and pray that you grant me out of the rich treasury of your glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in my inner man by your holy Spirit who Himself indwells my innermost being and personality.

Lord through faith I ask that you actually dwell, settle down, abide, and make your permanent home in my heart!

Cause me O Lord to be rooted deep in love and founded securely on your love.

Give me the power and cause me to be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints the experience of this love, to experience the breadth and length and height and depth of it, so that I may really come to know practically, through experience for myself, the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge without experience.

Give me the power and cause me to be strong to apprehend and grasp with all the saints the experience of this love, to experience the breadth and length and height and depth of it, so that I may be filled through all my being unto all the fullness of God.

May I have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself!

I give glory to you God who, by and in consequence of the action of Your power that is at work within me, is able to carry out Your purpose and do superabundantly, far over and above all that I dare ask or think, infinitely beyond my highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams.

To you be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen. So be it.

Ephesians 3:13-21 . Amplified Bible (AMP)

Read your bible. Pray everyday. Find a credible church where you can learn.

Forget the rituals, the religious show. Just make your relationship with Jesus a real and daily affair.

I want to help you.

Do you remember the movie "Grease"?

Krump Studios headed by my girl, Jemimah Angulu is doing a Nigerian version of some of our most favourite moments from the Grease Movie. Grease: The Naija Mix is the first full length dance theatre production in Abuja. Based on the 1970’s classic Grease starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, the production aims to recreate fond memories re-telling the story but set in Nigeria in the 70’s. With a blend of original scores, grease favourites and fresh choreography, Grease: The Naija Mix promises to be a must watch for the month of August.

Eno cast as  Danny and Elle cast as Sandy

The event is the Maiden production of The Speaking Feet Project, a dance theatre project aimed at providing jobs for young talented dance /theatre performers by providing  avenues for show casing their talent.

The production aims to entertain and expose the Nigerian audience to various forms of performing arts outside mainstream entertainment. It also intends to create a platform for dancers pursuing a professional career in the competitive yet limited entertainment market. Most importantly though, it aims to produce exportable art and create an international brand made up young Nigerian talent.

This project is an initiative of The Krump Dance Studios Abuja, a recognized and registered dance studio which specializes in dance fitness, dance training and dance theatre and entertainment

Okikijesu: What living with half a skull feels like!

Okikijesu Olawuyi

Okikijesu Olawuyi has made news the world over for being the only human on the planet to have congenital cranial deficiency at the scale she has. This child miraculously made it to her third birthday despite the predictions of her doctors. "Take her home to die" was the verdict stamped on her fate, but this little survivor has defied death and survived.

Being a three year old baby with a deficiency that does not allow this child run, wave her hands in the air, see things in front of her, eat a plate of rice or experience a normal day without throbbing pain from the double lobes on the frontal part of her head (which expand with pressure from fluids in her head), is heart-breaking to imagine let alone experience.

Okikijesu's predicament has brought her before some of the world's best neurosurgeons, one of note is Dr. Ben Carson of John Hopkins's medical international.

Okiki's family and supporters found relief when Carson and his medical team saw her condition as a challenge they couldn't resist. Eager to have such a medically historic accomplishment under their belt and amazed by the sheer act of God that kept Okiki alive, these doctors performed a first of a series of surgeries on the 22nd of May , 2013. Okiki has achieved major milestones since then, coming out of Intensive Care a week ago, she has also incurred huge medical bills.

The Global Initiative for Peace, Love and Care, GIPLC led by Nuhu Kwajafa came to her rescue late last year and through their efforts helped raise the initial estimate of $234,000 sent by John Hopkins. Today, those bills have ballooned to more than $500,000 leaving GIPLC appealing to the sympathy of more good hearted people to come to the rescue.

Since I heard about this case, I have been involved. I have helped raise at least 1 million naira, I have also helped raise publicity.  On June 30th, I hosted GIPLC to a charity event to engage bloggers and social media users to campaign about this on their platforms and make a cash or sweat contribution to the cause. I did this with support from the communications and strategy unit of the Office of the Speaker, House of Representatives. All this I say, ONLY to tell you I will not ask you to do something I haven't done.

Please make a contribution today.
